Student/Intermediate Exercises

These exercises are focused more for the student level of drawing, but again, with any of these exercises they can be practiced at any level and should be every now and again to refresh the tool box.

Remember too, practice is the key to improving, and when you reach a level of consistency with any of the exercises do not stop doing them.  Continue forward with them.  It is doing them “religiously” that will give you greater command over your skills and allow you the confidence and freedom to draw anything you want.

Exercise 1 – Ear Finds the Head Tilt

Click on the title to open the first exercise.  This first exercise helps With defining the head at any tilt, tip, turn, elevation with just a circle and the ear shape.  The exercise continues with follow up shapes to complete the head neck and shoulders in a very quick set of gestures.
